1. Keep quilt top, backing, and batting separate. Do not baste together.
2. Press top and backing well, remove loose threads. Please! I don't want my machine to trip over them.
3. Square the top and the backing fabric.
4. It is a good idea to stay stitch around the edge of your top, especially if it is pieced to the edge.
5. Borders should be flat. If not, this may cause tucks, pleats or fullness. Measure your quilt top through the center before adding borders, then match the border length to the measurement of the top. Don't just sew a long border on, and then trim it off. It will be too long and will ripple. Trust me.
6. Backing and batting need to be 3 to 4 inches larger on all sides than the quilt top.
7. All selvages should be removed from any inside seams. Selvages may remain on outside seams.
8. You may purchase your batting from me, or provide your own. I carry various types of Quilters Dream batting.
9. 100 % cotton is recommended for backing.
